• Analytical Chemistry Section
• Food technology section
• Applied Biology section

The department offers a Bachelors degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma and Certificate courses. Details about programmes offered in the Department of Pure and Applied Sciences are outlined as follows;

The Higher diploma, diploma and certificate programs are designed to meet the needs of all the industries such as food industries, laboratories and research institutions by providing solutions in pure and applied sciences. Research also plays an important role in education in the area of pure and applied sciences to try and solve theories with the programs. The department is gradually getting actively involved in a range of research activities that will benefit industry and society. A student who graduates with a degree in Biotechnology may work in research institutions, pharmaceutical sector, food industry, medical research, agricultural sector, forensic science, or may go into gainful self employment. A Biotechnology graduate may also undertake further studies in Biotechnology or related area.
