WEMA CENTER COMES ON BOARD
The best students from MPUC in the areas of Social Work could land internships at Wema center. This was agreed by MPUC management and that of Wema, after jointly signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The main purpose of the MOU signed on 10th September, 2012 is to foster a partnership and corporation on social work and related activities, between the two parties. The MOU will allow the two institutions to undertake projects of common interest, exchange information concerning social trends in the society, as well as conduct joint seminars, workshops and social welfares.
Speaking during the signing the documents, MPUC Principal Prof. Josphat Mwatelah said the collaboration will mostly assist the students to perfect the skills learnt in class. The gesture will also act as a challenge to students to put more efforts, to grasp the opportunity.
Wema centre Executive Director Lucy Yinda said they have had many students from MPUC as volunteers and interns. She said their performance is always excellent, “They have a very good reputation, so we came up with more ways to frequently interact with them”.
She said they were coming up with a project – Mobile Education, and they needed students from MPUC to participate as interns. Present during the signing of the MPU was the Deputy Principal Academic Affairs Dr. Marangi Mbogho, Registrar Administration and Planning Dr. Joseph Obwogi among others.
