MPUC Acquires Accreditation to Offer Certificate, Diploma and Degree Programmes in Nutrition and Dietetics

The Mombasa Polytechnic University College, through the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences has been granted license to practice, counsel, educate, train, treat, consult and/or display, sell, advertise products and services related to nutrition care/therapy by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI). The University College has also been licensed to teach Certificate, Diploma and Degree Programmes on Nutrition and Dietetics. KNDI is the statutory body mandated to regulate the provision of quality Nutrition and Dietetics education in Kenya.
This is a great achievement for the Faculty as it looks forward to roll out degree programme in Nutrition and Dietetics by September, 2012. The degree programme has been designed also to provide for upward mobility not only to MPUC diploma graduands but also to those from other TVET institutions.
The programmes in Nutrition and Dietetics are offered at the University’s College main Campus. The programmes are designed in a way to accommodate flexible learning schedules and offer professional competences that allow for self employment and global competitiveness. This is evidenced by the positive feedback the Faculty has been receiving from its collaborators and stakeholders who have interacted with our graduands and students.
Those interested in joining the programmes in September, 2012 are advised to look out for details to be advertised in July/August, 2012. The entire MPUC celebrates this outstanding achievement and congratulates the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences for a job well done.
